How long does a jar last, and how do I store it?
Because the whipped texture means you only need a small amount per use, a jar typically lasts several weeks to a couple of months with daily use. Store it at room temperature out of direct sunlight — tallow is shelf-stable and doesn't require refrigeration, though it may soften in very warm conditions (that's normal, not spoilage).
Is grass-fed tallow better than regular tallow?
Grass-fed tallow tends to have a richer nutrient profile (including more vitamins A, D, E, and K) compared to conventionally raised sources, since the cattle's diet affects the fat's composition. It's why most reputable tallow skincare brands specifically source grass-fed, grass-finished tallow rather than generic tallow.
Can I use it on my face and body, or just one or the other?
Both. All three of our scents — Vanilla & Lavender, Blue Tansy, and Scent Free — are formulated to work anywhere you need extra hydration: face, body, hands, elbows, or dry patches. Many customers also use it as their final nighttime step or under makeup and SPF in the morning.
Is whipped tallow moisturizer good for sensitive skin or acne-prone skin?
Yes. Tallow's fatty acid profile closely resembles the natural oils your skin already produces, so it tends to absorb rather than sit on top of your skin, and it's non-comedogenic (won't clog pores). Our Scent Free formula is a great starting point if you have very reactive or sensitive skin, since it has nothing added beyond jojoba oil, arrowroot powder, and vitamin E.
